Dromoland Castle

Dromoland Castle Hotel County Clare is perfectly situated and equipped to offer a vast number of activities to its guests. For the active, our Championsip Golf Course (Specifically designed by Irish golfing legend, J.B. Carr and one of golf's great golf course architects, Ron Kirby) holds pride of position in one of Europe's finest country estates. The Dromoland Golf Academy is just a 9-Iron from the Castle's main entrance and is a perfect platform for beginners and upwards with a fully enclosed teaching bay. 

The Castle grounds and woodlands are perfect for exploring on foot or on horseback. Horse Riding lessons are available at the nearby stables. Fishing and Boating on Dromoland Lake are also hugely popular among our guests and as with all of our activities, can be arranged in advance. 

For those wishing to relax or revitalise, our Leisure Centre offers a 17 metre Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi while our brand new Spa is the perfect "pampering" spot. 


 

Golf Green Fees:
Enjoy the splendor of the magnificent 18-hole, 6845 yard championship parkland course; Clubs, buggies and equipment are available at the Proshop.

Golf Academy
Dromoland Castle's Golf course is complemented by a truly unique practice facility which has 10 fully automated Driving Bays, Putting Greens and bunker. All the bays are fitted with Golf-Tech�s second generation fully automated �Power Tees�. The Bunker and Chipping Green offer a number of lies, slopes and grass lengths to practice from. In addition to a well shaped, large greenside bunker, there is also a riveted face links style bunker, modeled on the famous 'Road Hole' bunker on the 17th at St Andrews. 

Fishing:
Fishing available for residents on our Lake. The Lake is well stocked with trout, perch and other coarse fish. Guests may fish from the banks of the lake, or on one of the estate boats. Expert assistance from our ghillies is available by prior arrangement. Ghillie �100.00 per day. 

Tennis:
Complimentary for residents on our two all weather outdoor tennis courts. Racquets and tennis balls available at reception. 

Walking:
With over 410 acres of mature woodland and feral lakes, Dromoland has plenty of walks and pathways that offer varied and interesting routes. Wildlife on the estate includes native red deer, pheasant, partridge and many of the country fauna of the area.

Cycling:
The castle has a number of mountain bikes available for complimentary for guests who wish to pursue the many laneways and byways of the estate. Additional bikes can be arranged at a cost of �35.00 per bike. 

Clay Shooting:
The estate has a dedicated shooting range. Cost �55.00 per person based on a minimum of 3 people. 

Archery:
The classic castle pursuit is available to guests. � 40.00 per person including instruction based on a minimum of 3 people 

Horseriding:
We are happy to make arrangements for guests at a nearby equestrian centre. Cost �50.00 per person per hour including equipment and instruction.

The Spa at Dromoland:
In June 2007 Dromoland Castle opened its doors to The Spa at Dromoland. This hidden gem is located within the Castle walls and has been specially designed for the ultimate spa experience. The Spa consists of 6 treatment rooms, Hair Salon, Manicure & Pedicure Teatment rooms and an outside Gazebo with Hydro Pool. Please see Spa page for price lists.

Leisure Facilities:
Located in our Golf & Country Club the facilities include; Indoor Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam room, Jacuzzi and fully equipped Gymnasium.
